Canada is home to some of the world’s most important mining communities, and Sudbury is at the top, supporting over 19,500 workers in mining, processing, and supply sectors, and producing a significant portion of the country’s mineral output. With over 300 mining supply and service companies, the region plays a crucial role in powering Canada’s economy and supporting North America’s critical mineral needs. Despite being a global leader in sustainable mining practices and holding key critical minerals essential for securing supply chains, Canada is not fully leveraging this strategic advantage for national growth and prosperity and to thwart recent geopolitical threats. This needs to change.
Join Canadian Club Toronto on March 27 for an important discussion on strengthening Canada’s critical minerals sector by expanding “mid-stream” processing facilities. This step is vital to building a complete end-to-end EV supply chain in Ontario, ensuring that the Southern Ontario auto sector – and broader North American industries – have the secure resources they need for the future. We will start the event with opening remarks from Paul Lefebvre, Mayor, City of Greater Sudbury. After which, he’ll join a panel of leading voices in the field:
- Perry Dellelce – Founder & Managing Partner, Wildeboer Dellelce LLP
- Heather Exner-Pirot – Senior Fellow & Director of Natural Resources, Energy, and Environment, Macdonald-Laurier Institute
- Moderated by Matthew Bondy, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Bondy & Associates
